Can I take more than one observation?
Yes! We encourage you to count stars in more than one location. It is best that you make additional observations at least 1 km (0.6 miles) away from your initial location. Also, don’t forget to get new latitude and longitude coordinates.
If I make additional observations, do they have to be on the same night?
You can make additional observations on the same night or on another night any time during the event time period. At each location, you will still want to determine the darkest area at which to make the observation and new latitude and longitude coordinates.
Safety Note: Make certain that you choose areas that are safe and open to the public. Do not trespass on private property without permission. Younger children should always be accompanied by an adult when going out at night to count stars.
